Freestar stalling at idle

Hey, my 2006 Ford Freestar with a gasoline engine is acting up! The check engine light keeps popping on, and the engine sometimes stalls when I'm idling. I'm thinking it might be the tank ventilation valve, maybe a clogged hose? Anyone else run into this?

I had a similar issue with my Freestar. Check the purge valve and all the hoses connected to the fuel tank. Could be a simple clog.

Interesting! Was yours stalling too? And where exactly should I be looking for this purge valve? I'm not super mechanically inclined, haha.

Yep, stalling at idle was exactly what mine was doing. Honestly, if you're not comfortable poking around, I'd recommend taking it to a shop. Could save you a headache, and messing with the fuel system can be risky.

Thanks! I took your advice and brought it in. Turns out you were right about the purge valve and clogged hoses. Cost me 175€ to get it all sorted. Runs like a charm now!
