Freestyle brake pedal feedback

I'm having a strange feedback from the brake pedal on my 2007 Ford Freestyle with a gasoline engine, around 243257 km on it. I don't hear any squealing, but the pedal feels unusual. Could it be worn brake pads or something more serious?

I also own a Freestyle. Is the strange feedback almost like a vibration or a pulsing sensation? I had a similar problem a while back. Did you check if your car's voltage regulator is working properly?

Thanks, a vibration is a good way to describe it. I haven't considered the voltage regulator; how could undervoltage influence the brake pedal feedback? What was the resolution in your case?

The ABS system is sensitive to voltage fluctuations, and that can manifest as weird feedback through the pedal. It’s worth investigating. I eventually took mine to a workshop to have it properly diagnosed. It was indeed a voltage issue impacting the ABS, and the brake pads were worn, too. It might be worth checking both.

Thanks; it gives me a direction to investigate. I will schedule an appointment with a trusted workshop for a thorough inspection. They quoted around 240€ for replacing the brake pads, let's see if the voltage regulator needs replacing as well. Thanks again!
