Frontier low battery error
Summary of the thread
A 2015 Nissan Frontier is experiencing a 'low battery' error on the speedometer, flickering lights, and weak startup, with a scan indicating a low voltage error. A possible cause is a faulty battery sensor, which can affect the charging system and cause electrical issues. The recommended solution is to have a professional diagnose and potentially replace the battery sensor, which resolved the issue in this case.

Battery sensor, huh? Where is that located, and can I test it? I haven't checked the alternator yet. Could a faulty sensor cause a parasitic draw?

The battery sensor is usually attached to the negative terminal. It's tough to test without the right tools. A bad sensor can definitely mess with the charging system and cause a draw. I'd recommend a shop; they can diagnose it properly. That was my issue, but I couldn't fix it myself.

Thanks, that's helpful. I'll take it to a shop to check the battery sensor and charging system. It was the battery sensor. Repair cost 315€. Appreciate the quick diagnosis!

Sounds familiar. I had something similar happen with my Frontier. Check your battery sensor. Those things can be glitchy and cause all sorts of weird electrical problems. Is your alternator charging correctly?
