Frontier oil temperature warning light

My 2009 Nissan Frontier diesel has an issue. The engine oil temperature warning light keeps popping up, and the error memory has a fault stored. Plus, the oil pressure warning lamp lights up sometimes too! I'm thinking it might be the oil temperature sensor, maybe a bad connection? Anyone seen this before?

Sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my old BMW 3 series. Same symptoms – warning lights all over the place. Have you checked the sensor's cable and plug connection? That was the culprit in my case.

Thanks for the quick reply! So, on your BMW, was it definitely the cable or the plug itself that was faulty? Just trying to narrow things down before I start ripping things apart.

Yeah, it was the connection. It was corroded and loose. I'd suggest checking that first. If you're not comfortable doing it yourself, maybe take it to a workshop. It's probably a quick fix.

You were spot on! Took it to the shop, and it was indeed the cable connection to the oil temperature sensor. 95€ later and all good. Thanks for the help!
