Fuel level sensor fault

I had a similar issue with my Moco. The fuel gauge was acting erratically, and the engine would occasionally stall. Did you check the wiring harness leading to the fuel level sensor itself? Sometimes a loose or corroded connection can cause the same symptoms as a faulty sensor. A multimeter might be helpful in this case to verify connectivity and continuity of the circuit.

I'll check the wiring harness. Where exactly is the fuel level sensor located? Is it easily accessible, or will I need to remove any parts to get to it?

The fuel level sensor is usually integrated with the fuel pump, which is located inside the fuel tank. You might be able to access it by removing the rear seat cushion or through an access panel in the trunk. Be aware that working with fuel systems can be dangerous, so take necessary precautions such as disconnecting the battery and working in a well-ventilated area. Given the symptoms and error code, and the fact that you've already checked the fuses, I'd recommend taking it to a trusted workshop to avoid any further complications. With 238856 km, the fuel pump assembly might be due for replacement anyway.

I took it to the workshop as you suggested. Turns out the fuel level sensor was indeed faulty. Replaced it and the issue is now resolved. Cost me 52€ Thanks for the advice!
