Fuga Hybrid Power Loss After Chip Tuning

I'm pulling my hair out. My 2015 Nissan Fuga hybrid with 95k km feels like it's lost power. The auto scanner shows an error code. I'm guessing it's the chip tuning I had done.

Sounds familiar. I've got a Nissan Fuga too, though not a hybrid. I had similar symptoms, reduced engine power. Did the scan tool give you a specific diagnostic code, or just a generic 'check engine' light?

It spat out a cryptic code about 'performance below threshold'. I cleared the error memory, but it came back. Was your issue definitely related to tuning, or could it be something else? Is there anything I can check myself before I take it to the shop?

Okay, 'performance below threshold' could mean a whole bunch of things. Given you had a tuning chip installed, and now you have reduced power, that's the prime suspect. With these newer cars, the ECU is pretty sensitive. I'd say your best bet is to take it to a workshop and get them to check the software and the chip tuning itself. It's likely mucked something up. Save yourself further headaches.

I was hoping to avoid the mechanic, but it sounds like that's the only way. I'll get it booked in and tell them to look at the chip tuning first. It turns out it was indeed the chip tuning gone bad. They had to re-flash the ECU. Cost me 180€, but at least my Fuga is running like new again!
