Fuga rain light sensor issue
Summary of the thread
A 2019 Nissan Fuga hybrid experienced issues with the rain-light sensor, leading to problems like non-functional auto-wiping, auto headlights, speedometer dimming, and random light activation. The problem was traced to bubbling under the gel pad on the windshield, which interfered with the sensor's functionality. The solution involved replacing the gel pad and recalibrating the sensor, resolving the issues effectively.

Bubbling under the gel pad? That's interesting. I hadn't thought about a physical problem. How did that affect the sensor, and how did you figure that out?

Yeah, it's a weird one! The bubbles mess with the sensor's ability to "see" properly. I only noticed when I was cleaning the windshield closely. Honestly, I'd just recommend taking it to a reputable workshop. They'll diagnose it properly, and it's probably a quick fix.

Thanks for the tip about the gel pad. I checked and found some minor blistering. Took it to a shop, and you were right, the rain-light sensor was affected. They replaced the gel pad and recalibrated the sensor, and now everything's working. Cost 62€. Your advice was invaluable!

Whoa, that sounds super frustrating! I have a Fuga too and had almost those exact same issues a while back. Did you happen to check for any weird bubbling under the gel pad on the windshield where the sensor sits? That was my culprit, believe it or not!
