Fullback diesel injection fault
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Fiat Fullback diesel exhibited symptoms of a faulty injection system, including increased fuel consumption, reduced power, stalling, and smoke during acceleration. The suspected cause was a faulty cable or plug within the system. A similar issue in another vehicle was traced to a corroded electrical connection at an injector. Upon inspection, a corroded plug on one of the injectors was identified and replaced, resolving the problem.

Cheers for the reply. Where exactly on the injector did you find the faulty connection? Was it obvious, or did you need to dig around a bit to find it?

In my Expert, it was the connector right at the injector itself. It wasn’t immediately obvious; I needed to disconnect it and inspect closely. There was green corrosion inside the connector, and one of the wires was partially broken where it entered the connector body. I advise taking it to a workshop for a professional opinion. Diagnosing electrical faults can be tricky, and they'll have the right tools and expertise.

Appreciate the advice. Took it to the shop as you suggested. Turned out to be a corroded plug on one of the injectors, just like you said. Cleaned it up and replaced the connector. Cost me 95€. Runs like a dream now.

I had a similar issue with my old Peugeot Expert van. Same symptoms: excessive fuel consumption, poor engine performance, stalling, and smoke. It turned out to be a faulty electrical connection to one of the injectors. The connection was corroded and causing intermittent signal loss. Have you checked the wiring harness and connectors thoroughly, looking for any signs of damage or corrosion? It might be worth checking the resistance of the injector circuits too.
