Fusion electric seat malfunction

Passenger electric seat on my 2013 Ford Fusion (gasoline engine) isn't working. Diagnostic shows an error, seat adjustment is non-functional, and fuses are fine. Could it be the seat wiring or the car's computer?

Summary of the thread

The passenger electric seat on a 2013 Ford Fusion was non-functional despite the fuses being fine. The issue arose after a complete battery discharge and subsequent jump-start, which likely corrupted the seat module's memory. The solution involved reprogramming the seat module at a workshop, resolving the malfunction.

I had a similar issue with my 2016 Opel Insignia. Sounds identical. Did you recently have a dead battery or a jump start?

That's interesting! Yes, the battery was completely flat a few weeks ago, and I had to jump-start it. Could that really be the cause? I wouldn't have thought that could affect the electric seat.

Yep, a heavily discharged or defective battery can cause all sorts of weird electrical gremlins. In my case, the dealer said the seat module basically got corrupted. You might be looking at a trip to the workshop; hopefully it's just a reset.

Thanks a lot! I took your advice and visited my local mechanic. Turns out, the battery discharge scrambled the seat module's memory, just like you said! They reprogrammed it, and everything's working perfectly now. Cost me 290€, but well worth it to have a functioning seat again. Really appreciate the help!
