Fusion Fault Memory Lock Active

Anyone else seen this? My 2008 Ford Fusion (gas engine) is throwing an error: 'Fault memory lock active'. Only symptom is the error stored in memory after diagnostics. Mileage is at 211379 km. Any ideas?

I had something like that in my Fusion (not sure of the build year anymore; had it for a while). Sounds like some kind of undervoltage issue messing with the control unit. Did you check your battery? Also, does the error come back immediately after you clear the codes, or does it take a while?

Battery seems okay, voltmeter says it's healthy. The error comes back pretty quick, usually within a day. What exactly was your issue, do you remember the fault code?

Yeah, if it's recurring that fast, battery charging might actually be the problem. I don't recall the specific fault code anymore, sorry. Problem was tracked to undervoltage causing weird control unit behavior. You'll probably need someone with the right diagnostics tools; you most likely need to get the car checked by a professional automotive workshop.

Cheers, appreciate the help. Took it to the workshop; you were spot on. Turns out it was an undervoltage issue causing the error. Bill was 240€ to get it sorted.
