Fusion Ignition Switch Issue

Hey, I've got a 2020 Ford Fusion with a gasoline engine that's giving me some serious grief. Sometimes it won't start, other times it just shuts off while I'm driving. And when it does run, it runs really rough. Anyone else have this issue? Mileage is at 30100 km.

That sounds like a potential ignition switch problem. I had a similar issue with my old Opel Astra a few years back. The symptoms you describe – engine not starting, shutting off randomly, and rough running – all point towards that. Has any warning light illuminated on your dashboard?

No warning lights, which is the strange part. I'm leaning towards the ignition switch as well. What was the fix for your Astra?

Well, in my Astra's case, it ended up being the ignition switch fuse was defective and needed replacement. Since your Fusion is newer, it might be a more complex issue within the switch itself. Given the symptoms, I'd highly recommend taking it to a trusted mechanic for a proper diagnosis. They can test the ignition switch and related components to pinpoint the exact problem.

Thanks, that helped a lot. I took it to the workshop, and you were spot on – it was the ignition switch. They replaced it, and the total cost was 52€. Runs like new now!
