Fusion Jerking Whistling Hissing

I'm having issues with my 2003 Ford Fusion with a gasoline engine. The check engine light is on, and it's jerking during acceleration, making a whistling and hissing sound when accelerating. It occasionally stalls at idle, fuel consumption seems higher, and engine power is down. I suspect a faulty boost pressure sensor, maybe a bad cable or plug. It's only done 38948 km. Anyone seen this before? Any advice?

Those are rough symptoms. Sounds like a boost leak for sure. I had similar issues with my old Opel Astra, though not quite as dramatic. Check engine light, power loss... turned out to be a dodgy connection to the turbo system. Is your air intake properly connected?

The air intake looks connected. Could you say more about the connection issue you had with your Opel? What should I check?

It was a while ago, but I think it was a loose plug on one of the pressure sensors near the turbo. Similar hissing noise. Honestly, with that many symptoms on a Fusion, I'd get it professionally diagnosed if you can afford it.

I took it to a workshop. It was the boost pressure sensor. The repair cost 95€.
