Fusion low brake fluid spongy pedal

My 2005 Ford Fusion with the gasoline engine has developed a worrying issue. The brake fluid level is low, and I'm getting strange feedback from the brake pedal. Any ideas? Mileage is 133941 km. Could this be worn brakes?

Low brake fluid AND pedal feedback? I had a similar experience with my Fusion. First things first: are you seeing any visible leaks around the master cylinder or any of the brake lines?

No visible leaks that I can see. Brake lines seem fine. Master cylinder looks okay, but hard to be certain. Any other thoughts?

If you're not seeing any leaks, and you're still experiencing a spongy pedal, my strong advice would be to take it to a workshop. Worn brakes are likely to blame, and if left untreated, you risk compromising the entire hydraulic system. Is it worth it?

Thanks for the advice. Appreciated. I went to the shop and they confirmed worn brakes. Cost me 480€, but all sorted now.
