G Klasse electrical issue overvoltage errors
Summary of the thread
A 2021 Mercedes G Klasse is experiencing electrical issues, including overvoltage errors, system failures, and weak battery starts at 40,626 kilometers. The suspected causes are a discharged or defective battery, a faulty voltage regulator, or a power surge affecting the car's ECU. A similar case was resolved by replacing the voltage regulator and battery, suggesting these as potential solutions. It is recommended to have the vehicle inspected at a workshop for accurate diagnosis and repair.

Thank you. I didn't observe any other unusual behaviours prior to the overvoltage issue; it arose abruptly. I'll inspect the battery connections. When you had a similar problem, was the car ECU affected? Did replacing the voltage regulator resolve the electrical issue?

Yes, my car ECU also showed some related errors due to the power surge. Replacing the voltage regulator and the battery fixed the problem. I suggest having a workshop check it; it is difficult to diagnose remotely.

I appreciate your insight and confirmation. I'll have the vehicle inspected at a workshop. It appears the voltage regulator is the likely issue. The repair cost was 290€. Thanks again for your assistance.

I had a similar issue with my G Klasse. Overvoltage errors can be tricky. Check the battery connections for corrosion. A failing voltage regulator can cause these symptoms. Did you notice any other unusual behavior before the overvoltage errors?
