G Klasse fuel flap issue

My 2001 G Klasse with a gasoline engine has a fuel flap issue It refuses to open I'm getting an error and the fuel filler flap is dead Some other functions seem unavailable when I'm wrestling with it I suspect a defective linkage Has anyone else run into this Could it be the key fob the lock actuator the release mechanism or a cable release I'm leaning towards an electrical fault Any advice before I start

Central locking seems fine otherwise Where exactly is the fuel flap lock actuator located Is it easily accessible Any tips on testing it before I start Also is there a separate fuse for the fuel flap release or is it tied into something else

It's behind the panel in the trunk near the fuel filler Honestly after fiddling with it for an afternoon I gave up and took it to a workshop They diagnosed a faulty actuator and replaced it Best 210€ I spent Save yourself the hassle
