G Klasse Height Control Problem

My 2023 Mercedes G Klasse gasoline engine is having height control issues. The dashboard warning light is on, the low beams are misaligned, and the ride is bumpy. The car isn't leveled properly. I scanned it and got a suspension error. Could this be a suspension problem?

Sounds familiar. I had a similar suspension issue with my G Klasse. From your description, especially the uneven height, it could definitely be a load sensor or the height sensor playing up. Have you checked the control rod on the sensor? That was the culprit in my case. Also, have you messed with the control module settings recently?

Control rod, huh? Where exactly is that located, and how would I check it? And no, I haven't touched the control module settings. Is that something that can just randomly go haywire?

The control rod is connected to the height sensor on the suspension. It's a small linkage, and it can get bent or broken. Visually inspect it for damage. As for the control module, it's less likely to be the root cause, but it's not impossible. Honestly, with those symptoms, especially the uneven ride height, I'd suggest a workshop visit to properly diagnose it. It could be a faulty sensor or something else entirely.

I checked the control rod on the sensor, and you were spot on – it was busted. Replaced it, cleared the error, and everything seems back to normal. The ride is smooth again. Cost me about 110€ for the part. Appreciate the pointer!
