Thank you for your insightful response. Could you elaborate on your experience? Did your diagnostic process definitively isolate the door switch, or were there other factors involved, such as the door actuator?

Nah, I didn't mess with multimeters and fancy diagnostics. Just got fed up and took it to the shop. They said something about a faulty connector. Point is, those door mechanisms are more trouble than they're worth. Save yourself the headache and let a professional sort it.

I appreciate your candid advice. I shall heed your suggestion and entrust the matter to a qualified technician. As it transpired, the issue was indeed a corroded connector within the door handle assembly. The connector was cleaned and re-secured, resolving the fault and restoring the keyless entry functionality. Thank you again for your assistance.

Door handle woes, eh? Sounds familiar. I've got a G Klasse too. Keyless entry packed it in a while back – drove me nuts! You reckon it's just a cable? Seriously? Did you check the door switch itself? Those things are flakier than a croissant in a hurricane.
