G Klasse throttle valve issue

My 2016 Mercedes G Klasse gasoline engine is acting up Check engine light is on and it feels like I'm towing a boat anchor I scanned it and got a code pointing to the throttle sensor Anyone else run into this Thinking it's either the accelerator pedal module or something inside the throttle body itself What am I looking at in terms of a fix I am seeing issues with engine idling also, and it's almost like it's stuck Could it be the air intake I'm trying to avoid limp mode here

I understand your concern regarding the performance of your G Klasse I own the same model, and I experienced similar symptoms not long ago The check engine light illuminated, and the vehicle exhibited a noticeable reduction in engine power The issue was indeed related to the throttle valve Before proceeding with any replacements, may I inquire as to whether you have inspected the electrical connections to the throttle position sensor A loose or corroded connection can sometimes trigger the same fault code

Yeah, I checked the connections, cleaned them up with some contact cleaner, but no change Still getting the same code and the reduced power Did you end up replacing the whole throttle body or just the sensor And what was the replacement cost roughly, if you don't mind me asking

In my case, the entire throttle body required replacement While it might be tempting to replace only the sensor, the fault often lies within the integrated electronics of the throttle body itself Given that you have already inspected the connections, I would recommend consulting a qualified technician for a diagnostic assessment A faulty throttle body can indeed cause reduced engine power, illumination of the check engine light, and erratic engine idling It is imperative to address this issue promptly to prevent potential damage to other engine components I would advise against further driving until the problem is resolved Considering the potential complexities involved, seeking professional assistance would be the most prudent course of action

Thanks for the advice Took it to a local shop and they confirmed it was the throttle body Replacement cost was around 265€, including labor Runs like new now Appreciate the insight
