G6 reduced engine power

I'm experiencing reduced engine power and the check engine light is on in my 2012 Ford G6, gasoline engine with 114348 km. The car feels sluggish, with a noticeable delay when I press the accelerator. Could this be a defective throttle valve, a faulty accelerator pedal module, or something else?

Hey, I had a similar problem with my G6: check engine light, power loss. Feels like driving through molasses, right? Does it seem like it's stuck in limp mode? Have you tried scanning for specific error codes? It could be the throttle position sensor or something messing with the fuel efficiency.

Thanks! Yes, limp mode describes it perfectly. I haven't scanned for error codes yet, but the reduced power and delayed response strongly suggest something is amiss with the throttle. What exactly was the problem with your G6, and how did you fix it? Any specific sensors or modules that I should inspect?

OK, if you're in limp mode, it's serious. It sounds like the issue I had. In my case, the throttle position sensor wasn't communicating properly. I'd recommend taking it to a workshop if you don't have proper diagnostic tools. It's likely a sensor or the accelerator pedal module has gone bad.

Just to let you know, it turned out to be a defective throttle valve and the accelerator pedal module. The repair cost me 265€ Hopefully this will resolve it.
