G6 Stalling Idling
Summary of the thread
A 2009 Ford G6 is experiencing stalling while idling, accompanied by an illuminated check engine light. The issue may be related to the fuel system, specifically the emission control system, such as the EVAP system or a defective activated charcoal filter. It is suggested to have the vehicle checked by a mechanic to confirm the cause and address the stalling problem.

Interesting. What part of the emission system was it, exactly? And did it affect your fuel consumption much?

I think they said it was the EVAP system, something to do with the fuel tank ventilation. The mechanic mentioned a defective activated charcoal filter being a likely culprit. The fuel consumption did go up a bit, but the stalling was the bigger problem. If I were you, I'd get it checked out. My repair cost was around 275€, and the symptoms sound very similar.

Thanks, that's really helpful! I'll take it to the workshop and mention the charcoal filter. Knowing it's likely that helps a lot. Will post the solution.

Hey, that sounds familiar! I had a similar issue with my old Opel Astra, though the stalling wasn't as consistent. The check engine light was always on, driving me nuts. Turned out to be something with the emission control system. Someone told me it was like the car couldn't 'breathe' properly, like a blocked nose, if that makes sense?
