G6 Starting Failure Cruise Control Issue

My 2011 Ford G6 with a gasoline engine has 133797 km and is showing a stored error, non-functional gear selection display, inoperative cruise control, and sporadic starting failures. I suspect a faulty clutch pedal switch. Has anyone experienced similar issues and have advice?

Sounds familiar. I drive a G6 and encountered almost identical symptoms. The error code, malfunctioning gear selection display, cruise control cutting out, and occasional no-start all point to the clutch switch. In my case, it was a faulty connection. Inspect the wiring and connectors associated with the clutch switch. A visual inspection for corrosion or damage, with a continuity test, could pinpoint the problem.

Could you elaborate on the continuity test? What pins or wires were problematic, and what values were you expecting? Did you experience intermittent issues before the complete failure?

The continuity test involved checking the connection between the switch and the ECU. I don't have the pinout details, but the signal wire from the clutch switch to the ECU showed a voltage drop when the clutch pedal was depressed, indicating a break. It was gradual. The cruise control would initially cut out sporadically, followed by intermittent starting issues. Given the potential complexity and safety, I advise taking it to a workshop.

I appreciate the advice. I'll inspect the wiring and connectors, but I agree a professional diagnosis is warranted. I've scheduled an appointment with a trusted mechanic. The estimated repair cost, including parts and labor, is about 95€.
