Galloper headlight windshield washer issue
Summary of the thread
A 2003 Hyundai Galloper owner experienced a malfunction with both the headlight cleaning and windshield washer systems. Despite checking the fuses, the issue persisted, suggesting a possible blocked hose or electrical problem. A suggestion was made to inspect the shared pump's electrical connections and relay, as a faulty connection could prevent power from reaching the pump. Upon professional inspection, a defective cable connection to the pump was identified and repaired, resolving the issue.

Interesting. How would I check the relay or the connections to the pump? Where is the pump usually located? Is it difficult to access? I'm no expert, but I can handle basic stuff.

Okay, so the pump is usually near the washer fluid reservoir. Access varies – sometimes it's easy, sometimes a pain. As for the relay, check your car's manual for its location. Before diving in, I'd suggest you check the cable connection to the pump. If you don't find anything obvious, it could be a more complex electrical fault. Then it's better to take it to a workshop.

Thanks a lot for the advice! I checked the connections as you suggested but couldn't find anything obvious, so I took it to a workshop. Turns out a cable connection of the pump was indeed defective, like you said. They fixed it for 165€, and everything is working fine now!

Hey, that sounds familiar! I had a similar problem with my old Volvo. The headlight and windshield washer systems often share the same pump. It could be a dodgy electrical connection to the pump or even a faulty relay. The pump might still be functional, but if it's not getting power, neither system will work.
