Genesis audio system failure
Summary of the thread
The audio system in a 2013 Hyundai Genesis stopped working, with no sound output despite functional fuses and responsive dashboard controls. A stored error that can't be read suggests a deeper issue. A similar case involved a defective display unit, a known problem in some models, which was resolved by professional diagnosis and repair. Taking the car to a qualified workshop for a proper diagnosis is recommended.

No crackling or static beforehand, it just went silent. The volume control still lights up, and the dashboard controls seem to respond – the display changes when I press them, but no sound comes out. Could it be the display itself, as that seems to be the control center?

Sounds very familiar. In my case, it turned out to be a defective display unit. Apparently, it's a known issue with some of these systems. I strongly recommend taking it to a qualified workshop; they can properly diagnose the problem and confirm if it's the display or something else. My repair cost around 725€.

Thanks so much for the insight! I'll take it to a workshop and mention the display unit issue. Hopefully, it's a straightforward fix. I appreciate the help!

Interesting. I had a similar problem with my Genesis (I think it's a 2015 model). The sound would cut out randomly, and sometimes there was a loud crackling noise from the speakers. Did you notice any speaker crackle or static noise before it completely failed? Does the volume control still light up, and do the dashboard controls seem to respond when you press them?
