Getz oil pressure warning light
Summary of the thread
A 2008 Hyundai Getz diesel exhibited an oil pressure warning light, potentially due to oil sludge or a leak, as the maintenance interval was exceeded. The issue was confirmed to be oil contamination, which was identified by checking the dipstick for thick, sludgy oil with a burnt smell. The problem was resolved with an oil change at a workshop.

Thanks for the quick reply! How would I check for oil contamination myself? And if it is contaminated, what's the next step?

The easiest way to check for contamination is to look at the dipstick. If the oil looks thick, sludgy, or has a burnt smell, it's likely contaminated. I advise visiting a workshop to have them check the engine oil. Good luck!

Thanks a lot for your help! I went to the workshop and they confirmed the engine oil was contaminated due to exceeding the maintenance interval. An oil change fixed it; cost me 165€. Much appreciated!

I had a similar issue with my Getz. Is the engine oil contaminated? Check for any signs of oil sludge. When was the last oil change?
