Getz Poor Start and Fuel Consumption
Summary of the thread
A 2006 Hyundai Getz with low mileage was experiencing poor starting and increased fuel consumption. The initial suspicion was a defective throttle valve. However, it was suggested that the issue might be related to the accelerator pedal module, which can cause the engine throttle to malfunction if the ECU receives incorrect signals. After checking at a workshop, the accelerator pedal module was confirmed as the problem, and replacing it resolved the issues.

Interesting. The accelerator pedal module? What makes you think that was the reason?

For me the root cause was that the accelerator pedal module was defective and the ECU wasn't getting the correct signal, in turn affecting the engine throttle. I'd suggest getting it checked at a workshop before replacing any parts. It could save you money and time.

Thanks for the suggestion. I took it to the shop, and you were right, the accelerator pedal module was indeed defective. Repair cost me 205€. Runs like new now!

I drive a Getz myself, and those are symptoms I had too! It ended up being the accelerator pedal module causing the engine throttle to not function as intended. Have you checked the air intake and control valve? Could be a related issue.
