Gienia immobilizer error
Summary of the thread
A 2018 Honda Gienia with 107,691 km is experiencing starting issues, with the engine dying shortly after starting and an immobilizer error appearing. The problem is likely due to a faulty key transponder or incorrect key programming, as indicated by a flashing security light. The suggested solution is to have the key reprogrammed at a workshop, which resolved the issue successfully.

Yeah, the security light is blinking like crazy when I try to start. I don't have remote start, so I can't test that. What exactly did you do to fix yours?

Okay, the flashing security light pretty much confirms it's the immobilizer. It's likely the key programming is incorrect or corrupted. The only way to solve it is to get the key reprogrammed. You'll need diagnostic equipment for that. I ended up taking mine to a workshop; they sorted it out pretty quickly.

Thanks a lot! Took your advice and went to a workshop. They reprogrammed the key and it's working now! Cost me 45€, which isn't too bad. Appreciate the help!

Sounds like the immobilizer alright. I had a similar issue with my Gienia a while back. Does the security light flash on the dash when you try to start it? Does your remote start work? It could point to a faulty key transponder or a problem with the car's immobilizer system itself.
