Gienia oil pressure warning lamp and engine noise
Summary of the thread
A 2017 Honda Gienia owner reported an oil pressure warning light and loud engine noises. The issue was suspected to be related to oil level, viscosity, or a faulty oil pressure sensor. After further investigation, it was determined that the oil pump was defective, leading to the problem. The solution involved replacing the oil pump, which resolved the issue.

Oil level is fine, but I haven't checked the viscosity. How can I check oil pressure?

You'd need an oil pressure gauge to check it properly. If the oil level is okay and the noise persists with the warning light, it could be a faulty oil pressure sensor or, worse, an oil pump issue. I'd suggest taking it to a workshop to get it checked out before something breaks completely. My issue ended up being a defect in the oil pump.

Thanks for the advice. Took it to the shop, and you were right - oil pump was busted. Cost me 755€ to repair.

Sounds rough. I had similar symptoms with my Honda Civic. Have you checked the engine oil level and condition? Also, what oil viscosity are you using? Sometimes using the wrong oil can cause low oil pressure, especially in older engines.
