Gienia Parking Aid System Error

I'm having an issue with the parking aid system on my 2016 Honda Gienia with a gasoline engine. It's been completely non-functional for a few days. I scanned for errors and found one related to the parking assistance malfunction. What could it be? I have blind spot sensors, ultrasonic sensors, radar sensors and rearview camera and I'm starting to suspect that all of them might be involved...

Summary of the thread

The parking aid system on a 2016 Honda Gienia was non-functional, with an error code B143 indicating a communication error within the parking assist control module circuit. The issue was suspected to be a defective cable or plug connection. It was advised to have a workshop handle the repair due to the complexity and risk of causing further damage. The workshop confirmed and fixed the cable issue, resolving the problem.

The parking aid system can be tricky. Since you have an error stored, that's a good starting point. It's probably not all sensors at once. The likely culprit, based on the symptoms, is a defective cable or plug connection somewhere in the system. Think of it like a chain; one broken link stops the whole thing. Do you have the specific error code? Knowing that could narrow down whether it's related to the blind spot sensors, ultrasonic sensors, radar sensors, or the rearview camera itself.

Thanks for the advice! Yes, I have the error code. It is B143. Any tips on where I can find the cable or plug connections you are referring to? I'm guessing I need to start taking panels off the car...

B143 points to a communication error within the parking assist control module circuit. Now, before you start dismantling your Gienia, remember that fiddling without the right tools or knowledge can sometimes make things worse, like trying to fix a watch with a hammer. Given that it is likely a defective cable or plug connection, it's best to have a workshop check it. They'll have the proper diagnostic tools and wiring diagrams to pinpoint the fault efficiently and safely. It would be a shame to damage the sensors.

You are completely right! I went to the workshop and they confirmed that it was a cable issue. They fixed it for 95€. I'm very thankful for your advice! I will be extra careful from now on!
