GLA Diesel Automatic Transmission Problem
Summary of the thread
A 2013 Mercedes GLA diesel is experiencing automatic transmission issues, including failure to crank, a check engine light, and a diagnostic code indicating a defective transmission parking position. The gearbox also slips or shifts roughly. The suspected cause is a faulty control unit, possibly related to a malfunctioning sensor. The recommended solution is to take the vehicle to a workshop for professional diagnosis and repair.

Thanks for the reply It's pretty constant now unfortunately When it first started it was intermittent maybe once a week it wouldn't start but now it's every single time Could that sensor really cause all these other symptoms like the rough shifting and error code

Yep on the BMW a faulty sensor messed with everything The computer gets confused and the whole automatic transmission acts up If the error memory says control unit it is more than likely the culprit I'd say bite the bullet and get it to a workshop Save yourself the headache

Sounds rough I had similar transmission issues with my old BMW different engine but still automatic The neutral position sensor went haywire Is it intermittent or constant transmission failure now
