GLA Diesel Control Unit Error Engine Overheating

My 2021 Mercedes GLA diesel is having issues. At 127369 km, the check engine light came on, and the engine is overheating. Coolant is spilling under the car, probably from too much cooling system pressure. Diagnostics say there's a control unit communication error, maybe a bad cable or plug. Could this be a software problem, or is it more likely a data link or connectivity issue?

I had a similar issue on my GLA. Check the wiring harness connections to the ECU. A loose or corroded connection can cause all sorts of weird problems. It might be worth checking before assuming the worst.

Thanks for the quick response. Did your issue also present with engine overheating and coolant loss? I'm trying to confirm if it's the same symptoms before I start tearing things apart.

Yes, it did cause similar problems. The overheating was intermittent at first, but the coolant loss was consistent. I couldn't find the issue myself, so I took it to a workshop. They found a corroded connector on one of the sensors. It's best to have it checked by a professional.

I appreciate the confirmation and advice. I'll inspect the connections thoroughly but will likely take it in. The estimate is 95€ for the cable or plug replacement. Thanks again for your help.
