Good point about the steering wheel controls They mentioned testing the actuator, but I didn't get specifics How did they pinpoint the issue with your Renault Was it just a process of elimination, or did they use some fancy diagnostic tool to check the connections in the steering wheel

With my Renault, they initially went down the actuator route, but after swapping it out and the problem persisted, they started digging deeper I think they used some multimeter to check the continuity of the wires in the steering wheel assembly Honestly, it was a bit of a headache Given your shop suspects a wiring issue anyway, it might be worth asking them to double-check all the connections, especially around the steering wheel and the actuator itself It's probably best to let them handle it Save yourself some potential grief

Thanks for the advice I took your suggestion and asked them to thoroughly check all connections It was indeed a corroded connector near the actuator, just like they initially suspected The 95€ estimate was spot on Cruise control is back up and running Appreciate the help

That sounds frustrating I had a similar cruise control problem with my old Renault Megane In my case, it was intermittent at first, then it failed completely The garage suspected the actuator, but it turned out to be a dodgy connection in the steering wheel controls Did your shop specifically test the actuator, or are they just going by the error code It's like assuming a lightbulb is bad when the switch is the problem
