Yeah, I've noticed a slight engine misfire on cold start. Did you replace the glow plugs yourself, or did you take it to a mechanic? How much did the repair cost you, if you don't mind me asking?

I didn't tackle it myself. I'm not that confident working on diesel engines. I took it to a workshop. Honestly, messing with glow plugs can be tricky, especially if they're seized. Best left to someone with the right tools and experience, in my opinion. It's not worth breaking one off in the head. The total repair bill was around 440€ including parts and labor.

Thanks for the info. I appreciate the advice about the glow plugs being tricky. I'll probably take it to a workshop then. Sounds like the safer bet. I got a quote for around the same price so that sounds about right. I will get it done and let you know. Cheers.

Sounds familiar. I had a similar issue with my GLA diesel. The preheating light stayed on way longer than it should, and the engine had a slight misfire on cold start. Turned out to be a faulty glow plug indeed. Did you notice any difficulty starting the engine, especially in cold weather?
