GLA exhaust sensor problems

GLA exhaust sensor issue Check Engine Light is on My 2020 Mercedes GLA with a gasoline engine is showing a check engine light Mileage is at 277695 km I'm getting an error related to the exhaust sensor Fuel efficiency has tanked too I suspect a bad cable or plug connection Has anyone else seen this before Repair cost is around 95€ is that about right

Summary of the thread

A 2020 Mercedes GLA with high mileage is experiencing a check engine light due to an exhaust sensor issue, leading to decreased fuel efficiency. The problem is suspected to be related to a bad cable or plug connection. It is suggested that the issue might be with the O2 sensor, particularly the one after the catalytic converter, which can degrade over time. After confirming the error code, the O2 sensor was replaced, resolving the issue and restoring the vehicle's performance.

I had a similar problem with my GLA It sounds like an O2 sensor issue These sensors can degrade over time, especially with that kind of mileage Before replacing the O2 sensor, did you check the catalytic converter A faulty catalytic converter can cause similar symptoms and trigger the check engine light Also, which O2 sensor is throwing the error There are usually two: one before and one after the catalytic converter

Good point about the catalytic converter I haven't checked that yet As for the exhaust sensor, I'll double-check the error code to see which one it is What were the specific symptoms you experienced when yours failed Was it also an O2 sensor cable or plug connection

My check engine light illuminated, and I also noticed a drop in fuel efficiency I didn't find any obvious cable damage, so I took it to a workshop They confirmed it was the O2 sensor after the catalytic converter Given your symptoms and the potential for a faulty connection, it's worth getting a professional diagnosis to pinpoint the exact issue

Thanks for the advice I checked the error code and it was indeed the O2 sensor after the catalytic converter I decided to take it to a mechanic and they replaced the O2 sensor The cable seemed fine, so it was likely just an aged sensor Runs like new again
