GLC Damping Adjustment Issue

My 2018 GLC with a gasoline engine has a damping adjustment fault. Any ideas?

I had a similar issue with my Mercedes. The damping adjustment system, which is part of the vehicle suspension, relies on electrical signals to control the shock absorber settings. A defective cable or plug connection can certainly cause the symptoms you describe. The error memory likely stores a code related to an open circuit or signal malfunction within the suspension system. I would start by checking the connections to the shock absorbers themselves. Do you have access to a diagnostic tool to read the specific error code?

Thanks for the info. Where exactly are the connections located? Are they easy to access?

The connections are typically near the top of each shock absorber, within the wheel well. Access can vary, but often involves removing the wheel and potentially some plastic liners for better visibility. However, given the potential complexity of the suspension tuning system and the error light, I'd advise a workshop visit for proper diagnosis and repair.

Thanks, that's helpful. I'll take it to a workshop. The repair ended up costing 95€. It was indeed a defective plug connection.
