GLC Power Tailgate Hall Sensor Issue

I had a similar issue with my GLC's power tailgate. The automatic tailgate would only open partially, and there was an error in the system. Have you checked the sensor wiring near the tailgate motor? That was the culprit in my case.

On mine, the sensor wiring was accessible after removing the interior trim panel on the tailgate. You should be able to see the hall sensor and its plug connection to the tailgate motor. However, unless you're comfortable with auto electrics, I'd suggest having a workshop take a look.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a workshop, and you were right. It was indeed a defective plug connection at the hall sensor. Repair cost 95€. Problem solved.
