GLE Airbag Warning Light Issue

My 2021 Mercedes GLE hybrid is throwing an airbag warning light. The restraint system warning lamp is lit up. Diagnostics points to a possibly defective cable or plug connection. Has anyone seen this before? Trying to figure out if I should brace for a huge airbag repair bill, or if it's something minor. The car has about 41011 km on it. I’m especially concerned about potential airbag deployment issues, and whether this is related to any airbag recall notices.

Ugh, that sucks! I had a similar scare with my GLE and the airbag system. Constant light on the dash. It was super annoying. I remember thinking the worst too.

Yeah, it was a loose connection, luckily. My mechanic said it's apparently a somewhat common issue. I wouldn’t mess with the airbags yourself – definitely get it checked out by a workshop. Vehicle safety first!
