GLE diesel engine check engine light issue

My Mercedes GLE built in 2022 with a diesel engine is giving me headaches The check engine light is on, and I'm getting an error in the memory I suspect the oxygen sensor is aged, because I see higher fuel consumption Could a defective cable or plug connection be the culprit

I had a similar issue with my GLE Check engine light illuminated, and fuel efficiency took a nosedive An automotive sensor related to the catalytic converter was faulty Have you checked the air-fuel ratio A bad connection could definitely be the problem

Interesting How did you pinpoint the faulty sensor Was it obvious, or did you need special tools to diagnose it

It wasn't obvious My mechanic used a diagnostic tool to read the sensor data The readings were erratic, indicating a problem Given your symptoms, I'd suggest getting it checked professionally Better safe than sorry with these complex systems

Thanks a lot for the advice I took it to a workshop, and you were right – it was indeed a faulty connection to the oxygen sensor Repair cost was 95€, and now everything is working smoothly again
