GLE Gasoline Mixture problem

My Mercedes GLE, built in 2020 with a gasoline engine, is showing a mixture preparation error at 165776 km. Getting reduced engine power, check engine light is on, rough running, jerking when accelerating, and it sometimes stalls. Could a defective injection valve or injector be the problem? I also checked spark plugs and the mass airflow sensor but they seem fine. Any thoughts?

I understand your concern regarding the mixture preparation error in your Mercedes GLE. I once experienced similar symptoms reduced engine power, rough idle, and the check engine light illuminated in my previous vehicle, a Volvo XC60, although the root cause might differ. In my case, the issue was related to the air-fuel ratio, which subsequently impacted the catalytic converter. Have you, by chance, taken a look at the air-fuel ratio?

So, what exactly was the issue with the air-fuel ratio on your XC60?

Initially, I suspected the mass airflow sensor. However, upon closer inspection, the issue stemmed from faulty fuel injectors. These injectors were not delivering the correct amount of fuel, thus disrupting the optimal air-fuel mixture. I would strongly recommend consulting with a trusted technician to properly diagnose the issue with your GLE.

Thanks for the info. I took it to a workshop, and you were right. Ended up being a defective injector valve. Repair cost was 515€. All good now.
