GLE Hybrid Electronic Parking Brake Issue

Honestly, it's best left to a workshop. The brake sensor is usually integrated into the brake calliper, so it's not something you can easily get to. I ended up having to replace the electric motor in the brake calliper, as that was the problem for me. It definitely impacts vehicle safety, so don't take any chances. If it is the motor, expect around 500€ for the repair. It's a pain, but necessary.
