GLE Hybrid Stalling Issue Resolved

My 2017 Mercedes GLE hybrid is throwing a check engine light and stalls at idle. Seems like a fuel tank ventilation valve issue. Mileage is at 200902 km. Could clogged hoses be the culprit?

I experienced similar symptoms with my GLE, exact same model. The EVAP system is quite sensitive. A faulty purge valve or blocked hoses can definitely trigger those issues. Have you inspected the hoses for any visible cracks or constrictions? A smoke test might also help pinpoint the exact location of the leak.

Smoke test sounds promising. Where exactly should I be directing the smoke?

Given the symptoms you described, I would focus the smoke test around the fuel tank, the purge valve, and all the connecting hoses related to the EVAP system. However, without proper diagnostic equipment and expertise, you might risk damaging other components. If you are not comfortable performing this diagnostic procedure, I'd strongly recommend consulting a qualified automotive repair technician to avoid further complications. It might save you money and time in the long run.

Thanks, took it to a shop. Turns out a hose was indeed clogged. Total cost for the automotive repair was 175€. Appreciate the help!
