GLK Windshield Wipers Not Working

Windshield wipers not working on my 2012 Mercedes GLK gasoline engine vehicle with high mileage Diagnostic check shows an error in memory Could a defective cable or plug connection be the cause Is a 95€ repair cost reasonable Cruise control works and no issues with steering column controls

I also own a GLK and had a similar wiper issue Mine were completely dead In my case it was the wiring harness connecting to the wiper motor Have you inspected the wiring harness for damage or corrosion It's worth checking before assuming a complex problem Does your washer fluid still spray That might help narrow it down since it sometimes shares the same electrical circuit

Thank you I haven't inspected the wiring harness specifically I'm not well-versed in the electrical system Could you provide guidance on how to effectively check it for damage or corrosion Also the washer fluid is not spraying

Given that your washer fluid isn't spraying this reinforces the likelihood of an electrical issue possibly within the steering column While I'm not an expert I'd advise consulting with a qualified workshop Intermittent electrical problems can be difficult to diagnose without proper tools It's better to be safe especially with the steering column

I appreciate the insight It appears the defective cable or plug connection was indeed the issue Following your recommendation I took the vehicle to a workshop and they resolved the problem The windshield wipers now function as expected The cruise control and all steering column controls are also working correctly Thank you again
