GLS diesel rail pressure sensor issue

My 2018 Mercedes GLS diesel is throwing a check engine light and acting up. I have 280506 km on it. The code reader says it's a faulty rail pressure sensor signal. The engine stalls at idle sometimes, and I'm feeling a loss of power when driving. I'm assuming the pressure sensor is bad. I was quoted 240€ for the repair. Has anyone seen anything like this

I have a GLS too, and I experienced a similar issue. The engine stalling and reduced power are classic symptoms. The pressure sensor is indeed the prime suspect. Consider inspecting the fuel injection system as well. Is the check engine light consistently on

Thanks for the reply. The check engine light is on pretty much all the time now. Did you end up replacing the sensor yourself, or did you have to take it in

Given the persistent check engine light and the potential complexity of the fuel injection system, I would recommend a workshop visit. It's best to have a professional diagnose and rectify the issue. Incorrect fuel pressure can cause significant engine damage

I appreciate the advice. I took it to the shop, and it was indeed the pressure sensor. New sensor fitted and the car is running fine now. Thanks again
