Thanks for the quick reply! I haven't specifically inspected the charcoal canister yet. Where is it located on the GLS, and what exactly should I be looking for in terms of damage or saturation? Is there a way to test the purge valve separately, or would a diagnostic scan reveal if it's faulty?

Honestly, I didn't get that far into diagnosing it myself. I took it to a reputable workshop because I didn't want to mess with the emission system. They ran some tests, confirmed it was the tank ventilation valve, and replaced some hoses that were indeed clogged. It resolved the stalling issue and the check engine light. Probably best to get a professional opinion before you start replacing parts.

Appreciate the advice! I'll take it to a workshop for a proper diagnosis. The clogged hose idea seems very plausible, given what you experienced. Just got the car back from the shop. They confirmed the tank ventilation valve was faulty due to clogged hoses. Total repair cost was around 175€. Runs like new now. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.

I had a similar problem with my GLS, though I can't recall if it was the exact same year. The stalling after refueling sounds very familiar. I remember reading something about the tank ventilation and the EVAP system being interconnected. Have you checked the charcoal canister for any signs of damage or saturation?
