GLS Hybrid Fuel Injection Issue

My 2020 Mercedes GLS Hybrid is showing signs of fuel injection problems at 107506 kilometers. It struggles to start, drinks more gasoline, has less power, idles poorly, and sometimes stalls. Diagnostics hint at clogged injection nozzles. Has anyone else seen this? What should I do before paying 515€ for new parts? I'm also curious about the emissions impact.

Summary of the thread

A 2020 Mercedes GLS Hybrid exhibited fuel injection problems at 107,506 kilometers, including starting difficulties, increased fuel consumption, reduced power, poor idling, and occasional stalling. Diagnostics suggested clogged injection nozzles as the cause. Before replacing parts, using a fuel injector cleaner was recommended as a potential solution. Ultimately, professional intervention confirmed contamination in the fuel injection system, leading to parts replacement, which resolved the issues and restored normal performance and fuel efficiency.

I've seen similar issues on the GLS. Dirty injectors can definitely cause those symptoms. Have you tried using a fuel injector cleaner additive in your gasoline? Sometimes that can help dissolve minor deposits. It might be a worthwhile first step before committing to nozzle replacement.

Regarding the fuel injector cleaner, can you share the specific product you used? Also, what concentration of the additive to gasoline did you use?

I used a standard gasoline injector cleaner from a reputable brand, nothing too specialized. Followed the instructions on the bottle for dosage. Honestly, if the problem is significant, the cleaner might only offer temporary relief. Given the symptoms you describe, a proper cleaning or nozzle replacement at a workshop is probably necessary to restore performance and address emissions concerns.

Thanks for the advice. I took it to a professional. They confirmed the fuel injection system was contaminated and needed parts replaced. The car runs like new now, and gasoline consumption is back to normal. Thanks again.
