Grandeur AC blows hot air
Summary of the thread
A 2005 Hyundai Grandeur is experiencing issues with the air conditioning system, which is blowing hot air due to a malfunctioning climate control unit. The problem is linked to an error related to the rear ventilation flap, possibly caused by a faulty flap actuator or a defective cable or plug connection. A suggested solution is to check the connections for defects, and if the issue persists, consider professional repair to address the dodgy connection on the flap actuator.

Thanks for the quick reply! Yeah, the error code does mention something about a cable or plug connection being defective. Where exactly did you find the faulty connection? Was it easy to get to, or did you need to remove half the dashboard?

No worries! If I recall correctly I tried to fix the connection myself but I couldn't. I took it to a workshop I knew, and they confirmed the issue was exactly that - a dodgy connection on the flap actuator. Saved me a ton of time and stress! If you aren't comfortable messing with it, maybe consider taking it in.

Cheers! I really appreciate the advice. I think I'll have a peek myself, but if it looks too tricky, I'll swallow my pride and take it to a shop. Seems like I have to prepare 95€ for the repair anyway. Thanks again!

I had a similar freakout with my Grandeur! Is the error message pointing towards the cable or plug connection? Because that was my issue! Check those first, before tearing anything major apart. My air conditioning was useless until I sorted it. It’s probably a defect air distribution. Let me know if that makes sense!
