Grandeur Fault Memory Lock
Summary of the thread
A 2010 Hyundai Grandeur diesel is experiencing an issue with an active fault memory lock and a stored error, suspected to be caused by undervoltage. The car drives normally, but the concern is about the stored error. The suggested solution is to clear the codes, but it might require professional attention due to the possibility of a deeper control unit problem. Ultimately, the issue was resolved at a workshop by resetting settings related to the undervoltage.

Thanks for the reply! The car seems to drive normally, yes. But I'm concerned about the stored error. And no, I haven't attempted to clear any codes yet. Would clearing the codes potentially solve the active memory lock issue, or is it more serious than that?

Well, since it seems to be driving okay it might be as simple as a voltage spike throwing a code. But honestly, 'active memory lock' sounds like it could be a deeper control unit problem, even if it is just from undervoltage at one point. Because you mentioned "active" lock of memory, it does sound like a trip to someone with advanced scan tools would be best. Sorry, dude!

Thanks for your help! I took it to a workshop. It was indeed undervoltage and they had to reset some settings. Cost me 240€. Appreciate the advice!

Undervoltage, huh? Active memory lock? Sounds like ECU shenanigans! Is the car driving normally, or are you seeing any weird electrical glitches? Did you try clearing the codes?
