Yes, in my case it turned out to be a faulty flap motor in the HVAC unit, similar to what you suspect. The workshop diagnosed it pretty quickly. I'd recommend getting it checked professionally before you start pulling things apart yourself.

I had a similar problem with my Grandland X, although I didn't check the error memory myself. The heating was definitely weak. Have you checked the blower motor or the air circulation settings to rule out simpler causes?
