Grandland X Idle Air Control Valve Error

My 2018 Vauxhall Grandland X with a gasoline engine is giving me fits. The check engine light keeps popping on, and the reader shows an idle air control valve error. Sometimes the engine stalls out completely when I'm idling. I've only got 24375 km on the clock. I'm guessing it's a dodgy valve but open to ideas. Anyone experienced similar?

I had something similar happen with my Grandland X. Same symptoms – engine light, stalling at idle, the whole shebang. Have you checked your air intake? Mine was absolutely caked in gunk, which was throwing everything off.

Interesting! I hadn't thought about that. How involved was it to check the air intake? Did you clean it yourself, or did you have to take it somewhere?

I tried cleaning it myself, but honestly, it was too far gone. Ended up taking it to a workshop. They confirmed the intake was heavily contaminated and that was the root cause of the idle issue. Cost me about 425€ to get it sorted.

Thanks a bunch for the insight! Sounds like I'm headed for the workshop then. At least I have a better idea of what to expect. I'll post a resolution once it's resolved!
