Thank you for your response. How might I identify vacuum leaks specifically around the intake manifold? Are there any telltale signs or methods you would recommend?

Well, it's a bit like finding a ghost in your engine! Seriously though, scorching on the intake manifold is a common issue, causing leaks. I didn’t feel confident enough to fix it myself, and my mechanic confirmed it. Honestly, with all those symptoms, and the error code stored, I’d seriously consider getting it checked by a workshop. They'll be able to pressure test the system and pinpoint the exact location of the leak. It’s better to be safe than sorry, especially with engine issues.

I appreciate your advice. Following your suggestion, I took my Grandland X to a certified workshop. Their diagnosis confirmed a defective intake manifold due to scorching, resulting in vacuum leaks. The repair, including parts and labor, amounted to 1180€. The symptoms have now disappeared, and the vehicle is performing as expected. Thank you again for your assistance.

That sounds awfully familiar! I had something similar happen with my Grandland X. Jerking, rough running, and that awful smell… Did you check for vacuum leaks around the intake manifold? Sometimes those can cause all sorts of mayhem with engine performance.
