Grandland X Overheating

My 2019 Vauxhall Grandland X, gasoline engine, is overheating. 74780 km. The check engine light is on, and I think it's the radiator fan. It sounds like a jet engine, then nothing. I suspect the speed sensor is faulty. Anyone else had this?

I have a Grandland X, and I had something similar last year. The temperature gauge was all over the place. Does it happen all the time, or just in traffic?

It's definitely worse in traffic, but even on the open road, the temperature creeps up higher than it should. The fan seems to be completely random. Did yours sound like a freight train too?

Yeah, the noise was awful, like a constant drone. I limped it to the workshop, and they sorted it. I'd get yours checked ASAP to avoid doing any serious damage to the engine. Probably the fan itself.

Cheers for the advice! I got it sorted. The speed sensor was indeed buggered, causing the fan to malfunction. New sensor and labor came to 250€. Running smooth as butter now, no more overheating!
